Jorge Gomez, a Ph.D. student in the Datta research group, joined during the spring semester of 2020 the Technology Benchmarking Team at Facebook as a Research Intern. His work, led by Dr. Barbara De Salvo, focuses on benchmarking leading-edge Silicon logic technology for the development of the next generation of AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) glasses. An accurate technology characterization is critical in the design of high-performance and ultra-low power ASIC, required for those glasses. The deep understanding of the industry requirements acquired by Jorge during this internship will boost his research in novel technologies for high performance CMOS.
